A Learning Process ~No Sweetness~

Sweetness can be a play on words like an affectionate name for someone you love but not this time. Sweetness as in a sweet taste for food is what I am after here and not the other one. Sweetness is in EVERYTHING so we get used to it and don’t even know. I had a pizza with cauliflower crust one time when I found it at the store. I thought OMG!!! awesome I need this. Baked it and ate some… low and behold… the sauce was allllllllll sugar. It was like candy pizza. No joke. That will teach me to buy it at the store.

Even if I could have sugar that pizza sauce was NASTY! They over compensated for the healthy crust.. jerks. One thing I am doing right now is trying to get used to no sweetness with everything like brownies, oatmeal, coffee, cocoa, everything. Today its oatmeal.

Friendly Oatmeal
1/4 cup quick oats of oats of your choice
1/4 cup give or take of milk
microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes
(top with)
1 Tbsp peanut butter (I used regular Jif)
1 small handful of semi sweet chocolate chips 85% cocoa.
I used these…. Pascha Dark Chocolate Chips

I think these are as dark and semi sweet as I can tolerate but they do have 100% as well. Maybe one day I can eat those. My picture of my oatmeal is not the prettiest but it does look yummy. This is one of the ways I am trying to cut out as much sugar and sweetness as I can.

At the moment I am trying to cut back on artificial sweeteners but it’s one step at a time and I need sweetness in my coffee for sure so I am focussing more on no sweetness in food.

Look at this! I found this video by accident. They are using the Vitamix blender that I have. I don’t think he blended the smoothie long enough either but this is so funny and I kind of want to try those berries LOL
